I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy seeing everyone's version of these features! All book covers are linked to Goodreads, if you want to check them out. If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!
In Real Life:
It's been a long, but fun week for me. The spring weather has been perfect here is California, which was wonderful for our school walk-a-thon. I really enjoy our school community, seeing all the kids and their parents showing school spirit.
This weekend is the Bay Area Book Festival. I don't know if I will go because all the authors I really want to see will be at Yallwest, also this weekend in Southern California! Why did both book events have to be scheduled for the same weekend??? I am so disappointed.
On The Blog:
I've been stressed about my blog lately. Why do so many books have to release in May??? Once I am approved for an advance copy of a book, I take that obligation seriously. And so many wonderful books were released this week. My favorite was Love From A to Z, by S.K. Ali. It was so romantic, but also an unflinching look at Islamophobia. I feel so lucky to be able to cheer on such fantastic books.
Now for the downside of blogging. I had signed on to a blog tour that I would have posted to next week. But finishing up the book today, I found that I could not write a positive review. I hated to do this so close to publication, but I had to write to the publicist and tell them I could not participate in the blog tour as I could not support the book. I feel awful, but I can't promote a book I don't believe in. I think I will not be signing on to any more blog tours. Too much pressure!
New Books:
Public Library:
Audio books For Review:
Listening Library:
I'm really excited for these two books! I've already read Aurora rising, but I think the audio book will be even more fun! Kingsbane is the second book of the Furyborn series. I really enjoyed the first book, and have high hopes for this one.
That's it for this week. Have a great Spring weekend!
