Stacking The Shelves #22

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  Each week nearly 100 blogs participate, showing their latest book acquisitions and other doings.  Go to their blog for all the links and check out as many blogs as you like.

Oh, my illness continues!  Man, this is the longest I have been sick in a long time.  But I was still able to get a lot of reading in, which I am thankful for because I got through three ARCs and this brought my NetGalley rating up to over 80%!

Read This Week:

The book I loved the most this week was The Last Painting Of Sara De Vos, by Dominic Smith.  This is an epic story of Art in the Dutch Golden Age, and a painting that spans the centuries.  The story takes place in the 1600's, the 1950's and the year 2000.  It will come out in April, and I highly recommend it.

Borrowed From a Friend:

I am probably the LAST person on earth to get this book!  But I will try to read it soon.

Free E-books!

I follow a wonderful blog by Derek Murphy called Urban Epics  You can access it here.  He is also a writer and had two of his books free on Amazon a few days ago.  Score!  They both look like fun.

What books did you get this week?  Let me know what you're excited to read in the comments.

  1. I got The Girl on the Train a month or so ago but I haven't read it yet. The mixed reviews have me a bit undecided about it. I guess we'll both get to it at some point! Have a good week!

    1. Thank you! I'm glad my friend loaned me the book. I have also heard mixed reviews. But I think I should read it, just to see what the fuss is about.

  2. I haven't read The Girl on the Train yet but I got the e-book months ago, so I have no excuse! The Scarlet Thread looks interesting! Happy reading and I hope you'll feel better soon!

    1. Thank you, Lynn. I am very happy with my book finds this week. I have been following Derek Murphy on Twitter, and on his blog, for a while now. So I am glad to finally get a chance to sample his writing.

  3. It's okay, I haven't gotten The Girl on the Train! You're not the last ;) I also picked up The Scarlet Thread on Kindle! Hope you enjoy these :)

    1. I think everyone at work has read The Girl On The Train but me! I am so grateful that everyone I work with are readers like me. We like to trade books and discuss them; it is so fun!

  4. D.S. Murphy's books look cool! And yay getting them for free. Hope you enjoy.

    1. Derek has written a lot of books, but this will be the first ones i have read. He also has a cool website called http://www.creativindie.com

  5. I've bought The Girl On The Train (along with Gone Girl) but have yet to read them. I've heard great things though! Post a review when you're finshed, I'd love to know what you thought of it.

  6. Great books. I just recently got my NetGalley percentage to over 80%! I want to request a book but kind of want to keep it at that rating for a bit. I wasn't a fan of A Girl on the Train as I had read Gone Girl beforehand and felt similar vibes. However, it is a quick read. Happy reading!
