It's been a busy week of blogging! I hosted my second ever giveaway to celebrate my one year Blogiversary!
Congratulations to CassieRose W. Winner of a $50 Amazon gift card!
I've also done a lot of reading. I am getting back to my regular reading stride of three books a week, which makes me feel like I am in control and I will start to reduce the number of books in my TBR pile! And I've begun to listen to audiobooks again. Listening to these is a great way to read while doing chores around the house or cooking.
Read This Week:
I loved reading Illuminae! It was so imaginative, suspenseful and fun to read.
Audiobooks From The Library:
What books did you get this week? Which ones are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments.
I'm a bit wary of audio books-they are expensive and I'm worried that I won't like the narration. The only audio books I have are the Harry Potter books by Stephen Fry!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that's why I only get audiobooks at from the library. I can download them directly onto my phone. I also own all the harry Potter audiobooks! Jim Dale narrates those. But Stephen Fry is also a great narrator (Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galexy, anyone?).
DeleteI don't listen to audiobooks (though I probably will someday) but I hope you love the ones you got this week :) Happy listening!!
ReplyDeleteDanielle @ Life With Two Boys
Thank you, Danielle. I started listening to audiobooks because they were so easy to download from my library. I can listen while I do housework or when I drive.
DeleteOh, I'm SO glad you liked Ilumminae! I NEED TO BUY IT! NOW!
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time with your new books.
Aditi @ http://athousandwordsamillionbooks.blogspot.in/
Yes! Illuminae was such a wonderful book. So creative. You should definitely get it now.
DeleteI keep meaning to buy Illuminae! :-) I hope you enjoy your new books.
ReplyDeleteIlluminae looks intimidating due to it's size (599 pages), but it is a really fast read, only taking me two days. Buy it now!
DeleteNice! I keep debating about Illuminae! Hear good things! Hope you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
When I'm not sure about a book, I get it at the library. Honestly, I am singing the praises of Illuminae, but I really wasn't sure I would like it, so I did get it at the library.
DeleteI just finished Illuminae and loved it. I also loved A Darker Shade of Magic. I have The Night Circus sitting on my TBR shelf, but I haven’t gotten to it yet.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It seems as though we have similar tastes! As I was writing today's post, I noticed that A Darker Side of Magic was a series, and I had a slight moment of panic. Did I get it out of order? I skipped on over to GoodReads to confirm that, yes, this was book 1.
DeleteI have The Night Circus on my TBR-shelf but have yet to find the time to read it. Hope you'll enjoy it. I've heard good things about it :)
ReplyDeleteSya @ Bookish Sya (http://bookishsya.wordpress.com)

ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
Thank you for stopping by, Grace. I am loving The Night Circus. I am listening to it as an audiobook, being read by Jim Dale. He narrated all the Harry Potter audiobooks, and his voice has such a magical quality that I am entranced when I listen.
DeleteI have Illuminae but I haven't picked it up yet but I keep hearing love for it saying I need to!
ReplyDeleteIlluminae is a really original book. i have never read anything like it. I hope you can read it soon and see what I mean.
DeleteI've had Illuminae on my shelf since it was released, but I haven't picked it up yet... It is kind of taunting me, though, so I think I'll get to it soon :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

ReplyDeleteMy StS: http://bambi-unbridled.blogspot.com/2016/03/stackin-shelves-23.html
The Night Circus is narrated by Jim Dale (who also narrated the Harry Potter series for the US market). I thought the production values were wonderful. I haven't seen the book and now you have me curious about it.
Deletewow three books a week! that is great! It takes me about a week and a half to finish a book :)
ReplyDeleteIlluminae, Darker Shade of Magic... great selections :)
Well, that's what happens when you don't watch TV, or have hobbies, or sleep... I just love to read.
DeleteHi - I'd be very curious about A Night Divided. Nice haul. Hope you enjoy them immensely. :)

Hi Diane. I loved A Night Divided. Some of the students I work with read it for class and so I wanted to know about the book in case they needed help. Well, it turns out that it is such a special book on it's own. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Very intense.

ReplyDeleteHurray for the Library! I wouldn't be able to read as much if I had to but each and every book I read. I like a mix of print, digital, and audio books. It keeps me on my toes. Have a great week.
DeleteI like audiobooks too :-) You picked some good ones to listen to. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am lucky that I can download audiobooks from my library to my phone. Audiobooks are expensive, so this is the only way to listen to so many great books.
