Stacking The Shelves #18

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.  Go to their blog for a complete list of all the participating bloggers.  Each week, over 100 blogs show you what books they received and what their excited about.  This is a super fun blog hop!

It has been a fun, but crazy week for me!  I work in a school and on Thursday we had all the Valentine's parties.  How were they?  Let's just say it was high energy and leave it at that.  I feel really lucky to have had Friday off (and I get Monday off as well).

I have been doing lots of writing this past week.  Last weekend, I made a goal of visiting and commenting on every blog that registered on Tynga's Linky-link list.   There were 101 blogs and I did it!  I think I will try to do this again this weekend.  What I loved about it was seeing all the various blogs and how each blogger interpreted the Stacking The Shelves theme.

Next Saturday I will not do Stacking The Shelves.  Instead, I will be participating in the 2016 weekend Love-a-Thon:

Hosted by:

                      Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books

                      Cee @ The Novel Hermit

                      Hazel @ Stay Bookish

                      Mel @ The Daily Prophecy

My most anticipated book obtained this week is Leah Remini's memoir, Troublemaker.  I immediately started listening to this audiobook and it did not disappoint.

Read This Week:

I loved all three of these books!  The Girls From Everywhere was a fun time-travel story.  The Arrangement was a deep look into the compromises made in a marriage.  And the audiobook of Troublemaker was mesmerizing.

Books I won in contests:

I forgot to post this last week, but I won this in a Twitter giveaway!

Kindle Books I Bought:

Eternity was a Freebie!!!  The Coffee Girl looks really fun and was only $1.99.  I know I will want to read it after finishing something heavy.

Books from the Library:

I was so happy to start getting books from the library again.  This is part of my goal of finding ways to read for my own pleasure, not just for reviews.  Although I may review these books, I am mainly reading these for pleasure.

What books did you get this week?   Which book are you most excited to read?  Let me know in the comments.

    1. Thank you Jessica. I like to listen to a few audiobooks so I can listen and do work around the house at the same time. Have a great weekend.

  2. Audiobooks are great for getting some reading done while multitasking. Or when you have sore eyes like I often do. Damn, I wish I would win more books in a contest/giveaway. I only won something twice and I think I was the only applicant on 1 of them :D.

P.s.- I see you had over 11000 views on here. I've only had 3000, so I think you're way more popular than me! <3

    1. Thanks Anne. I wish I had 1000 followers... Actually I AM just happy that anyone comes over to my blog! I agree about the sore eyes. Sometimes, I get a headache from using my Kindle, so I try to do a mix of print, digital, and audio books. Have a great week!

    2. Even with 1000 followers, I still only have 2-5 views per post most of the time. So, it's those few people who actually read it what makes my day as well.

They'd be crazy not to come over here! I've only got 4 blogs on my RSS feeder and yours is one of them, because I LOVE your reviews and everything else you talk about. Plus, you've rekindled my love for listening to the radio :). Thank you, you too!

    1. Yes, I couldn't believe it when I saw Illuminae just sitting there on the shelf at my tiny library! Usually I need to be on a waiting list for a few months before getting such a popular title. Have a great week.

I am SO jealous you are reading Troublemaker and happy you like it so far. I'm on the waitlist for my library (for the audiobook too). Looking forward to your review :)

I've heard so many mixed reviews on Illuminae, I hope you're on the side that likes it. Happy Saturday!

    1. Whenever I'm not 100% sure of a book, I try to get it at the library. That way, I don't waste my cash. I was on the waiting list for Troublemaker for months with my library, but the audiobook was worth the wait. I hope you enjoy it when you read it.

    1. Thank you Jeann. I love my library! The only problem is that many times all the books that I have on hold come in all at once! Then I'm in a panic to get them all read. I can handle 5 this time, though. It's when I get 7 or 7 and then also have some ARC deadlines looming, that it becomes stressful.

  15. Hi - The Arrangement looks like an interesting read. I'm curious about the compromises that would be made in their assumed arranged marriage. :)

    1. Ah, I can see why you would think it was about an arranged marriage. It is more about some "arrangements" made that the characters think they can live with, but cannot. It really is an intense book.

    1. Thanks Carole. If I'm going to read a celebrity memoir, it's got to be in audiobook format. Nothing beats listening to such books in the actual voice of the author. Have a great week.

  30. Way to go getting to all the links. I only do that every once in a while - and I'm generally way behind (like about a week) by the time I finish. I don't think there's a point in commenting if I don't say something genuine, and going through every link can get exhausting and lead to quick, not particularly genuine comments. Not that I'm saying you have the same problem! Maybe it's just me.
