Stacking The Shelves #20

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  Go to their blog for a complete list of participants.  There are usually around 100 bloggers each week, which makes it one HUGE blog hop!

It's been a busy week of blogging!  I hosted my second ever giveaway to celebrate my one year Blogiversary!

Congratulations to CassieRose W. Winner of a $50 Amazon gift card!

I've also done a lot of reading.  I am getting back to my regular reading stride of three books a week, which makes me feel like I am in control and I will start to reduce the number of books in my TBR pile!  And I've begun to listen to audiobooks again.  Listening to these is a great way to read while doing chores around the house or cooking.

Read This Week:

I loved reading Illuminae!  It was so imaginative, suspenseful and fun to read.

Audiobooks From The Library:

I am really looking forward to listening to A Darker Shade Of Magic by V.E. Schwab!  I loved her other book, Vicious, so I have high hopes for this book.  I have already started on The Night Circus and I am enjoying it very much.  Jim Dale, who also narrated the Harry Potter series, has such a mesmerizing voice!  Anything he says comes out enchanting.

What books did you get this week?  Which ones are you looking forward to the most?  Let me know in the comments.

  1. I'm a bit wary of audio books-they are expensive and I'm worried that I won't like the narration. The only audio books I have are the Harry Potter books by Stephen Fry!

    1. I agree, that's why I only get audiobooks at from the library. I can download them directly onto my phone. I also own all the harry Potter audiobooks! Jim Dale narrates those. But Stephen Fry is also a great narrator (Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galexy, anyone?).

  2. I don't listen to audiobooks (though I probably will someday) but I hope you love the ones you got this week :) Happy listening!!

    1. When I'm not sure about a book, I get it at the library. Honestly, I am singing the praises of Illuminae, but I really wasn't sure I would like it, so I did get it at the library.

    1. It seems as though we have similar tastes! As I was writing today's post, I noticed that A Darker Side of Magic was a series, and I had a slight moment of panic. Did I get it out of order? I skipped on over to GoodReads to confirm that, yes, this was book 1.

    1. Hi Diane. I loved A Night Divided. Some of the students I work with read it for class and so I wanted to know about the book in case they needed help. Well, it turns out that it is such a special book on it's own. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Very intense.
