This week was all about finishing things up for the school year, being supportive of my kids school projects (while occasionally making a run to Walgreen's, or the grocery store for last minute supplies), and fretting a bit as well. I want my kids to succeed in school, while making them responsible for their actions (they are in high school). It pains me to see one of my kids struggling, but I have done all I can to help. Or have I? That is what the fretting is all about. How does one step aside and let their kid fail? How do we teach about consequences? I hope my kid, and I, will learn something from this experience, however painful.
So I haven't read too much this week. just one book. I have acquired several new books for my Summer reading fun. One more week to go!!!
Read This Week:
From NetGalley:
I almost can't believe this! I "wished" for this on NetGalley and actually got it! This is only the second time this has happened to me. I just adore Kami Garcia, so I have high hopes for this book.
Bought:
I couldn't finish Passenger from the library, so I broke down and bought a copy. I like the story so far. Under A Painted Sky is by Stacey Lee. I recently reviewed her latest book, Outrun The Moon, so now I want to check out her other books. Isn't the cover stunning?
Bought For My Kindle:
I can't resist a good sale and this was $1.99 on Kindle. I've heard great things about this book.
From The Library:
I have been on the wait list for these two books for months! Of course, they both come up at the same time. Thankfully, summer vacation is coming so I will have time to read them.
What did you get this week? What are you itching to start reading? Let me know in the comments.
My daughter is in high school as well and I sometimes wonder why I am the one getting stressed out when it isn't even my assignment. There just seems to be so much to get done. Congrats on getting your NetGalley wish! I have had that happen a couple of times and it is awesome. Enjoy all of your new books!

Yes, I know how you feel about our stress over our kid's assignments! It's something I am working on. Teens are overworked, though. I don't remember having as much homework and projects as these kids have. It's crazy!
