Happy Saturday! It is the first week of my summer vacation, and I couldn't be more happy. I have been staying up late reading and waking up at 7:00am (very late for me). So I have been having so much fun. I also took a serious look at my TBR on my Kindle and joined the COYER (Clean Out Your E-Reader) Challenge. There are 22 books I need to read! So I am trying to read one or more e-books a week...Starting next week! This week has been all about reading the gigantic Lady Midnight, by Cassandra Clare. It is 669 pages of awesome!
BTW: If you like this blog, I would really appreciate a follow. Just put your method of following in a comment, and I will follow you back! Thanks and happy reading.
Read This week:
I loved Lady Midnight. The Shadowhunting world is back, baby! I was not so impressed with The Life-changing Magic Of Tidying Up. I lived in Japan for three years, so I understand the need to live without many material things. Japanese homes simply are not that big. One must throw out old things. But I objected to getting rid of mementos such as photographs and letters. I can't do that. I just can't.
New from NetGalley:
What can I say? I love Jay Kristoff's storytelling, so I am over the moon that I got accepted to read this book through NetGalley.
From Edelweiss:
This looks like such a fun book! I can't wait to read it.
Bought during B'Fest:
I saw Wendy Spinale last two weeks ago at the Bay Area Book Festival, but I waited until now to buy her book, Everland. She was super nice to my daughter and her friend, and signed the book, "To Princess Jenny"! That is what I called her when she was very young. Amazing.
From The Author:
I met this author at the Bay Area Book Festival. The novel seems to be about mermaids, so I couldn't resist.
From The Publisher:
Thank you, HarperCollins and author Lois Metzger for the finished copy of Change Places With Me. I read an advanced readers copy and am posting a review of it on June 21st. I really enjoyed this book, and the finished hardcover is so lovely. Lots of flowery details on the pages!
That is it for now. I hope everyone gets to read, sip a refreshing beverage and have an exhilarating week.
I've been following you for a while through bloglovin. It's easier for me to do that as my memory is pretty bad and using bloglovin, I never miss a post from anyone I follow! Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for following me! I enjoy your site, as well. I lived in England for a short time as a student and loved it! So I enjoy your updates.
DeleteOoh nice! Seeing a lot of buzz over Neverknight. Though I don't quite think it's for me, sadly. But Everland looks cool! I picked that one up last month as well! Hope you enjoy all the new reads!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you, Jessica. The author of Everland was so sweet, and I think she must live in the Bay Area because she has been doing lots of events to promote her book in the last few weeks. I am going to be starting that one soon. Have a fun week.
DeleteI hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thank you very much. Have a great week.

Vi @ Gone With The Books
I was worried that I wouldn't like it, but it was amazing! No one does forbidden love like Cassie Clare.
DeleteI so want NeverKnight. I hope you love it. It looks amazing. I hope you love all of your new book.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
I was so stoked to get Nevernight. I attended an author event for Illuminae about a month ago and Jay Kristoff was talking about this book. He was a wonderful speaker.
DeleteNice haul! I can't wait to read Nevernight, also! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy STS
Yes, Nevernight is going to be awesome! Did you get a copy? Have fun reading it.
DeleteYou're so lucky to have a copy of Nevernight, Ardis! I have a copy of How to Make Out as well, it looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer vacation and happy reading!
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Hi Lexxie! I just went on your blog and saw that you are a teacher! I am a Special Education Aide. Happy Summer! I just followed you on Bloglovin. I really thought I was a follower before, but I guess I always just used Stacking The Shelves to see your blog. Have fun reading.
DeleteI need to hurry up and read my copy of Lady Midnight. I've also heard good things about the clutter book, I need to give it a try. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Sunday Post
Thank you for stopping by my blog! I checked out your blog just now. What a great banner with the dogs! I did like the clutter book, but I think it was a bit hard core of her to suggest we throw out things like photos and letters from relatives. Have a fun week.
DeleteEeek! I love that you have Cassandra Clare in your haul. Hope you like it! Old bloglovin' follower here. Here's my StS if you'd like to stop by my blog.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like a variety of books. I have a friend at work who shares my love of YA Fantasy, and we trade books often. But I also am a sucker for Historical Fiction and lots of other types of books. I also follow you on Bloglovin! Have a great week,
DeleteGreat haul and I'm glad you see you are joining COYER. It's a great group and my second year doing it. I just followed you on Bloglovin' - I love seeing what you are up to!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow, Barb. I follow you on Bloglovin, as well. I really need to do this COYER Challenge! I've got over 22 e-books to read (and that's not even counting e-galleys). Have a productive week.
