It was great to be back with the students at school, and it made the week fly by! On Wednesday, I went to my book club at the amazing little bookstore, A Great Good Place for Books, in Oakland, California. I love Indie bookstores, and this place has such a warm, welcoming vibe. They were even mentioned on Good Morning America on their story about Small Business Saturday!
My daughter has been in the thick of college applications. Friday was a big deadline and it has been hectic. My sole job was moral support. But it is hard to see my kid stressed out.

Sounds like busy times! I remember being flustered with what school to go to at that age as well. Luckily I found the right fit and was accepted! Wishing her the best of luck with her acceptances!
ReplyDeleteNice haul too! I really didn't score too many bookish deals on Black Friday. I wait all year long to buy my movies on that day and was able to get most of them! Cyber Monday helped out with the rest! Lol! Hope you enjoy your new reads!

ReplyDeleteWe have a used bookstore only about a block away and it's great. I just don't do print anymore usually. I also got sucked into some of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday / Holiday deals lately. I reviewed Children of the Blood & Bone on audio. It was fantastic. Anne - Books of My Heart
