I am combining two wonderful weekly features: Stacking The Shelves hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews, and Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. These are great ways to find new blogs to explore and follow. I love blog hopping and looking at all the wonderful books people are excited about each week.
Personal Stuff:
I got tons of reading done this week! I am still under pressure to hurry up and read all these books, but I am really trying to sit and enjoy the reading experience.I have also been playing Pokemon Go with my daughter, which has been really fun. I think I prefer Geocaching, as it has more challenging mind games, but spending time with my kid is great.
Today is our Wedding Anniversary! We will be celebrating it by going to a cool authentic English pub in Muir Beach! They have Guinness beer on tap, which is worlds away from the canned kind, so I am really looking forward to a leisurely lunch. A special lunch may not be that exciting, but since I will be with my guy, it will be.

Read This Week:
I enjoyed all of the books I read this week, but my favorite was Fire Falling. The Air Awakens series is my current obsession! I have now finished the first two books and just love it! I don't know why I hadn't read them before, but I am so glad because now I don't have to wait months or years for the next parts (one of the advantages of waiting until the end to jump on the bandwagon).
New books:
From NetGalley:
Who doesn't love Bill Murray! I'm excited to read this. The Romantics also looks like a lot of fun.
I'm so glad I get some of ARC from NetGalley, so now I need to hurry up and read them!
For Irish Banana's Blog Tour:
This looks like a very fun book! I'll be reviewing it near the end of the summer, just in time for Halloween.
From The Library:
I got Lost Cat because I saw the author, Caroline Paul, at the Bay Area Book Festival and I adore cats. It's a quick read and I loved it.
I am embarrassed to say, but I put a hold on the audiobook of Ink and Bone, thinking it was the novel by Rachel Caine. I was going to delete it, but after checking the description on GoodReads, this Ink and Bone, by Lisa Unger, actually looks really interesting. I think I will give it a go!
What books did you get this week? Which ones are you most excited to read? Let me know in the comments.
If you want to follow (please, please, please), just let me know which way you did in the comments, and I will follow you back.
I have heard of this Pokemon thing-I swear if strangers ever invade my garden for this game, I'd call the police on them. My friend can't get in or out of her driveway because Pokemon obsessed people are blocking her driveway day and night, setting off her security lights and some are climbing over her garden wall and wandering around her garden! Rude. I don't even own a mobile phone so thankfully all these apps and crazes don't mean anything to me! Hope you get some good reading done this week!
ReplyDeleteI think your friend can go to the website and request that they take her house off the list of "gyms". That would be a pain if one was near your house. You might enjoy Geocaching. You don't need a phone. If you can get a GPS (you can buy one at a sporting goods store), you can look up the caches online and print out the information. It is more intellectual as you need to solve puzzles to get the cache. Have a fun week.
DeleteCongrats on your anniversary!! :) Guinness from the tap is absolutely divine! I'm looking forward to your pre-Halloween review because that cover is just hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! I just got back from our outing and the Guinness was wonderful. We actually got to spend all day doing touristy things in the Bay Area. FUN! Have a great week.
DeleteThe Romantics looks really cute. I love the simple cover.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does look cute. I have been reading a lot of fantasy lately, so I need to mix it up with some light romance (at least that's what I hope it is).
DeleteGreat haul you got there. Happy reading and have a wonderful weekend and week ahead of you.
ReplyDeletebest wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
Thank you Vi. I can't believe my husband and I actually did spend today just having fun. No grocery shopping, laundry, or house maintenance. We NEVER get to just relax. Now if I can sneak in some reading at the end of the day...
DeleteHappy anniversary! I hope you have a great lunch! I love Bill Murray and The Romantics looks cute. Great haul and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you Natalie. I had an English dip sandwich and vinegar on my chips! We got to spend the whole day together. With four kids, we rarely do this. have a fun week.
DeleteHappy anniversary! I hope you guys have a great day! :) I really want to try Pokemon Go - it looks super fun. :) How did you find Children of Icarus?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books! :)

My Book Haul!
I really enjoyed Children Of Icarus. I will be putting up a review in the coming weeks, but I will say that it is scary, and kind of like the hunger games. It is clearly meant to be a series, so there was a rather abrupt ending. But I will want to read the sequel.
DeleteGreat list of books you got! Here’s my Sunday Post!
