I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...
What I'm Up To:
Aside from busy times, I have come to a big life decision. I am going to participate in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, as it is known. This will take place in November. So I am going to spend the next few days finishing up reviews, and reading books I am obliged to read in order to clear my schedule for writing the first draft of my novel. I think I have a great idea and am excited to flesh it out. I will need to do lots of blog planning, so I won't have to do much with it throughout November. That way, I can concentrate on writing!
New Books This Week:
Gifted From Read with Tessa:
Thank you, Tessa for gifting everyone in this GoodReads group with these two books! I just finished listening to an audio book version of A Torch Against The Night, but I am so glad to have an actual e-book of it as well. I am excited to start Three Dark Crowns next!
NetGalley:
I've been recording the new TV series 'Victoria' which I plan to binge watch at some point. I find some of these historical monarchy dramas fascinating. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteI dearly love historical monarch dramas! Since I am in America, I will probably need to wait until BBC America or masterpiece theater show this new series. Have fun watching it.
DeleteGood luck with NaNoWriMo!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne! I am excited to try this...
DeleteGood luck with NaNo! I have a lot of respect for people who do that. I don’t think I’d have the dedication.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thank you A.J. The rest of this month will be dedicated to planning and blogging ahead of time, so I can free up my time fro writing. I'm even trying to think of meal prep (one of my biggest time sucks is making dinner) so I will have more time in November.
DeleteVery nice haul of books this week. I hope you love all of your new books.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
Thank you, Grace! All I want to do is curl up and have a reading marathon! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOoo, the gifts were really nice! I've read both and I didn't love Torch... and ending up hating Three Dark Crowns... but I think I'm the black sheep, with both of those. Which is okay by me - I'll definitely be continuing both series. :D I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week. :)
Check out my STS post!
Alyssa, are you on GoodReads? Please friend me so I can invite you to this group. The host, Tessa, is planning on giving out two e-books a month for us to read and discuss, I think a major reason I loved A Torch Against The Night is because I actually listened to it as an Audio Book. The voices of the actors really added to my enjoyment of the series. Have a great week.
DeleteGoing purely off covers/titles, I think your NetGalley books all look terrific. And I keep meaning to read some Tahir as well. NaNoWriMo sounds like a huge but exciting challenge. Good luck getting your ducks lined up for it!
ReplyDeleteOooh, and I just followed you on Bloglovin'!
DeleteThank you, Wendy! I went to your blog, but I didn't see a way to follow you. But I think we just became friends on GoodReads, so...
DeleteThree Dark Crowns has me really interested, and I think I'm going to read that one here at some point. The whole premise just has me interested.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with NaNo!!
I just requested Victoria on Netgalley... so fingers crossed! I also heard amazing things about the tv show!
ReplyDeleteTasya // The Literary Huntress
Aaah I have some of them as well on my wishlist :-). Happy reading and have a great new start into the new week.
