Stacking The Shelves #112 & Sunday Post #76

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!

I am participating in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book.  I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.

On The Blog:

Monday:  Bay Area Book Events #80

Tuesday:  Audio ARC Review:  Unearthed by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

Wednesday:  ARC Review:  Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke

Thursday:  ARC Review:  The Maze at Windermere by Gregory Blake Smith

I feel pretty good about getting three reviews posted this week.  All three books were wonderful!  The most unusual of the three was The Maze at Windermere, by Gregory Blake Smith.  It was a challenging read, but very satisfying.

In Real Life:

I've been reading Cutting For Stone, by Verghese Abraham, having borrowed it from a friend. It is EPIC!  And also 667 pages!!!  So I'm not exactly powering through it.  Also this week, I am immersed in The Tree, by Na'Amen Gobert Tilahun.   I was very pleased that the author quoted my review of the first book in this series, The Root, on Twitter.  I really respect Na'Amen as a writer (and he's a wonderful person to follow on Twitter).

The Flu has been very prolific at our school with some classes missing 50% of their students.  Tonight I have a sore throat, and pray I don't have it...

  2. I loved These Broken Stars! I read it two years ago but weirdly enough I never got around to reading the other two in the trilogy

  3. OMG! You have Stll Me! I cannot wait to hear about it. I am pretty happy that Moyes is giving Lou another book. I am sending all sorts of healthy vibes your way. I had the flu once and it was the most miserable experience of my life.

  6. Fingers crossed that the flu passes you by. I know it's hitting hard all over the place but so far my son's school seems to have been spared and I'm hoping it stays that way! I love the cover for The Forest Queen and Still Me has been tempting me. I loved Me Before You but haven't read any of the next books. Maybe audio would be the way to do it. Have a great week!

  7. Hope you're feeling better. When you work around kids, you are always at risk. The cover for Song of Blood and Stone is GORGEOUS! I'm gonna have to check that one out!
