I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!
I have begun to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book. I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.
On The Blog:
Monday: Bay Area Book Events #65
Tuesday: ARC Review: One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
Thursday: ARC Review: The Witch's Kiss by Katharine Corr & Elizabeth Corr
Yes! I have finally caught up with the ARCs that I have, and feel comfortable enough to read books that are just for fun! Which is a really good thing because a bunch of books that I placed on hold at the library just came in. I have been waiting months for the Kristin Hannah book! I am also excited for all the new audio books from Random House (Thank you again, Caffeinated Book Reviewer for connecting me!).
In Real Life:
It's been kind of a hard week at work, as we are short-handed. But, the good news is that, with all that running around, I am nearing 10,000 steps a day! I also tried to walk around the new track before school. I walked 1.5 miles on Wednesday, but then my knee was irritated. I'm feeling a little better today, so I may go to the gym. It's a daily struggle between pain and exercise. Usually pain wins out, but I am persisting.

I loved The Diabolic, and I am hopeful for this sequel.
That's it for this week. How was your week? What are you reading? Let me know in the comments.
I hate it when the staff is shorthanded at work! It makes it much harder to do the job when they give you all the work! I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Stacking the Shelves!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Recommend Me This! Saturdays!
Thank you, Ronyell. I know it's no one's fault, but I now have less time to strategize how I approach each day's situation. I like to be very prepared. I can work without prep, but it's not ideal. Have a great week.
DeleteI love the new Libba Bray editions! I still need to read The Diabolic, hope to do so soon! I hope you'll enjoy all the books you got! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI loved The Diabolic! It's like the Roman Empire, set in space. I am really looking forward to listening to Before The Devil Breaks You! So many books, so little time!
DeleteI can't wait to have a physical copy of Empress in my hands. It has such a lovely cover as does The Diabolic. Nice haul and thanks for stopping by The Farm.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Barb. I only have a digital copy of The Empress. I'm a bit bummed because it is a PDF, which I can only read on my computer. I do have a way to convert it to epub, but I fooled around with it for an hour, and it still wasn't working. Time to get my techy husband on the case!
DeleteI've had two knee surgeries, so I feel ya! I still need to read the second Diviners book, but I put it on hold at the library now that the 3rd book is finally coming out. I read Mrs. Fletcher a few months back and enjoyed it (although Election will always be my favorite). Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Natalie. I really liked the first two Diviners books, so I have high hopes for the third one. I am almost done with Mrs. Fletcher, but I am not very enthusiastic about it. While it is well written, I think the author focuses too much on sex (yes, I am a bit of a prude!).
DeleteI still haven't read The Diabolic. It's on my ever-growing TBR. I guess I'll have to check it out from my library or something. It seems like an awesome read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Shell's Stories!
I really loved The Diabolic! I love books with royal intrigue! The settings, and even the clothing, were so vividly detailed! I hope the next book is equally as fun.
DeleteCongrats on getting caught up with ARCs. I hope you enjoy all your new books!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It is a big relief to be mostly caught up. I feel a deep responsibility when I receive an ARC to get my review posted as close as possible to the release date. I need to do a sprint on one book this weekend, and then I can totally chill. Have a good week.
DeleteWow, amazing audiobooks from Random House!!! :O
ReplyDeleteKim's Wrap-Up
Random House has an amazing Audio Book program! The hard part, sometimes, is downloading such large files. They do not make it easy! Have a great week.
DeleteOne Dark Throne was a lot of fun. And I kinda want to read Little Fires after seeing a few reviews around...
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your ARCs is a big thing! Congratulations. Also, your audiobooks sound great. Have a great October :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting on top of the ARCs!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to just pick up a book we've bought for some reason, isn't it? I am never completely on top of my ARCs as it appears you are, but I still let myself enjoy books I own. I especially enjoy binge-reading series ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee will stop acting up, and that you'll have no more pain.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
I enjoyed Mrs. Fletcher, and I'm starting Little Fires Everywhere today.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, being short-handed at work was often our theme...I love retirement now!
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Congrats on the ARCs. My TBR is so long I've lost hope to read all of them. 🙈
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you enjoy your new books. Have a wonderful week. :)
Whoo hoo! Way to get your steps in. *cheering for you* I really want to read Mexican Daughter. It sounds amazing and emotional.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great haul. I'm really curious about Little Fires Everywhere. Hope you enjoy all your new books. - Katie
ReplyDeleteI need to get on and read The Diabolic! I got a copy in a subscription box. Hope you enjoy the sequel!
ReplyDeleteYay for being caught up with ARC's! I wish I could say the same. Someday. :-) I hope things settle down at work for you soon. It's been busy at my office too.
ReplyDeleteI have been hearing great things about Firefly Lane and Little Fires Everywhere. I hope you enjoy all you new books, library books included!
I can't even imagine what it would feel like to be caught up with ARCs. Good for you! Enjoy your new books and congrats on getting the audio ARCs.
