I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!
I have begun to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book. I will be getting a small fee for each purchase. This is all new to me, so bear with me as I try out this new feature.
On The Blog:
Sunday: Sunday Street Team Audio ARC Review & Giveaway for Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller
Monday: Bay Area Book Events #63
Tuesday: Audio ARC Review: Warcross by Marie Lu
It was kind of a slow week on the blog, as I am so busy reading, that I haven't caught up on doing the actual reviews! September is a major book release month and I admit I over committed to reading ARCs. I am just about finished and can soon concentrate on reading just for fun.

In "Real Life":
It's been another busy week. It's becoming easier to wake up early (5:40am), and I'm trying to focus on eating healthy. Mornings start with overnight oats which are really easy to make the night before. I'm beginning to realize that making all the little choices the night before (what to wear, breakfast, lunch) makes the mornings less stressful. Now I just need to fit regular exercise into my schedule... Wish me luck!
I also am excited to have gotten tickets to see John Green (and his brother, Hank) in their show promoting Turtles All The Way Down. I am taking my two teens and it should be a blast!
Also, I am set to go to the book signing for Maggie Stiefvater's new book, All The Crooked Saints, in October!
New Books:
My book drought is over!!! Thanks to the public library, I borrowed some great titles, and got lucky with other some books, too.
Public Library:
I am very excited to read both of these audio books!
Audio Book
From Publisher:
When this was offered from Random House, I squealed! I loved A Shadow Bright and Burning, and I am now devouring this book!
Borrowed From a Friend:
This looks like a fun romance! My dear friend lent this to me (Thank you!) I just started it, and it will be a wonderful treat to get absorbed into a sweet romance.

Nice haul! I got an e-arc from Netgalley of A Poison Dark and Drowning and I enjoyed it more than the first book although I still had a couple of problems with it. I hope you'll enjoy it as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lynn. As I read it, I'm having to stretch my memory to remember what happened in the first book. But I am liking it so far. Have a great week.
DeleteOoh nice new reads! I read A Poison Dark and Drowning awhile back! I got it in a trade and have since traded it on as well! I really liked it and so cannot wait for the next one! Hope you enjoy all the new reads!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks, Jessica. I am ripping through A Poison Dark & Drowning, but I hate waiting months (or years) for the next book. I am not a patient person with sequels. But that's my own problem. Good books take time to go through the whole editing process. Have a wonderful week.
DeleteI still need to read A Poison Dark and Drowning. Great stack of books this week.

Thank you, Grace. I am enjoying it so far. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteGreat haul! The One & Only looks really good :) Have fun reading!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Stacking The Shelves.

Thank you, Crystal. I think I need a nice romance to relax with this weekend. I hope your weekend is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI used an Audible credit for Warcross and will have to check out your review once I finish it. I hope you liked it! I wish you luck with your schedule! Working in regular exercise is one of my problems too. I already wake up so early (4:45 a.m.) and my evenings after work are so full . . . I either have to bite the bullet and get up even earlier or give up my lunch and walk the parking lot at the office . . .
ReplyDeleteI am jumping up and down for you that you get to see John Green! How exciting is that?! He seems like such a great guy--funny too. So does Hank. :-)
I love the cover of a A Poison Dark and Drowning. I haven't read the first book, but hopefully you will like this one just as much as the first! I'll have to check them out.
I hope you have a great week!
Glad your morning routine is making things easier. It was a tad dog-centric haul for me this week. Hope you and your gang enjoy seeing John Green.
ReplyDeleteI love John Green. It was sad that he was absent from BookCon this year. I hope you have an amazing time. I had wanted to read an Emily Griffin book and I borrowed The One & Only, and I had to DNF. There is a major plot point that I just couldn't get on board with. Since I didn't finish, I don't know where it went, but I hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books. I hope you'll have a wonderful time at the book signing. Happy reading and have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to start eating better myself! I hope you enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

The John Green event sounds fun! I'm kind of intrigued about his new book. And nice to see that Warcross was good- I just started that one. Can't wait to get into it more!
ReplyDeleteIt IS a major book release month! I'm also fretting over actually almost missing several deadlines, cause I was so busy, and there are so many new releases!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're trying to eat healthy, that's always good news :) and John Green! That's pretty exciting.
I will be bringing in a co-blogger next week, so I'm pretty excited too :)
Congrats on your new grabs and have a great week!
Nice book haul! Good luck with your healthy eating -- overnight oatmeal sounds like a great breakfast. And what fun that you're going to get to see John and Hank Green!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing the Amazon Affiliate thing myself, so I hope it goes well for you.
I'm trying to get into a better morning schedule too. I have to get up around the same time (5:45) to get to work for the time that I want, and I've been trying to be better about going to bed earlier and making lunch beforehand and whatnot. It works... sometimes. :D
ReplyDeleteI have a galley of POISON that I've not read yet. I've seen some so-so things about it so I'm a little put off. But I am going to read it. :D I hope you enjoy your new books!
Have a fabulous week, Ardis. =)
Check out my STS post!
I'm curious about A Poison Dark and Drowning! Love the cover. Mornings are a struggle for me because I'm most definitely not a morning person but I've definitely found that doing as much as I can the night before makes life so much easier. Good luck working exercise in. I know I feel better when I exercise regularly but I struggle to make myself actually do it! Have a great week!
