I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!
I have begun to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book. I will be getting a small fee for each purchase. This is all new to me, so bear with me as I try out this new feature.

Monday: Bay Area Book Events # 61
In "Real Life":
It's been a week of weather extremes here in California. Cold mornings followed by scorching heat. It was so warm in our area today, we closed the school early. This never happens and it made the local news. Nothing like getting to work and seeing a news truck in front of your place of work! I'm hoping for a quiet weekend so I can get ahead on my blog posts.
Strangely, I did not get any new books this past week!!! This hasn't happened to me in months! But I am starting to make some progress on my TBR pile because of it. There are some big titles coming up that I will be reviewing, including Warcross by Marie Lu, and Artemis, by Andy Weir. And I am really excited for One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake.
What are you reading? Any cool plans for the weekend? Let me know in the comments, and have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend, if you live in the U.S.A.
Nice! A break for the TBR pile is always nice! Hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you, Jessica. I am trying to power through all these ARCs so I can have some time to enjoy books simply for pleasure! Have an amazing weekend.
DeleteI didn’t get any new books this week either. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? It’s good for my TBR pile, though. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
This is really rare for me to not get any books! Hopefully I will read more of what I have, getting ARCs out of the way. There are some wonderful titles coming in the next few months. Have a great weekend.
DeleteThere are rarely weeks when I don't get any new books but when that happens it's so odd!
ReplyDeleteI know! I guess I have been so focused on reading what I have, that I didn't ask for any new books from NetGalley or Edelweiss. Have a great week.
DeleteIt was really, really hot here at the beginning of the week, too. So much that we were kind of hoping for the school closing. Now, though, the temps are down from 93 to 59 between Wednesday and Thursday, and fall is definitely on its way.
ReplyDeleteYAY for no new books, but exciting ones on your TBR to read!
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

OMG it is so hot hear, I am melting as I write this! I will definitely be sleeping downstairs tonight! Things are so warm right now, that my Kindle overheated! Keep cool.
DeleteI can relate about the heat...and the mornings are cool, but not cold. I've decided to do my errands in the early mornings...and stay in the AC in the afternoons.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Oh, if only we had AC! I didn't know I could sweat like this at 10pm! I think I will get up early and do chores so I can relax when it gets really hot. Then some retail therapy at an air conditioned mall! Have a fun weekend.
DeleteWhaaaattt, no new books?! Is there a such thing!? :D It's a good thing though - you can catch up on another books. The weather here has been all over the place too.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! Have a wonderful weekend, Ardis. =)
Check out my STS post!
Thank you, Alyssa. I hope this is the last of the super heated weather. It is just so uncomfortable. No one I know has air conditioning (not even my rich friends@). This is really unusual weather for my part of the state. It feels weird not to have gotten any new books. But I am making progress on my backlog of books to read. Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteOooh! I really want to read Artemis someday!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Stacking the Shelves!

Artemis is one of the big releases I am looking forward to! I am surprised that I got approved for the ARC, but very happy that I was chosen. Have a cool week ahead.
DeleteI do enjoy when I don't get any books as I already have way to many to catch up on lol I am going to check out your review of I hate anyone but you I really want to read it this month.
ReplyDeleteI finished One Dark Throne the other day, and I love how Blake advanced the story. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI need to go a few weeks without adding any books. My tbr is really a bit out of control but it is hard not add new ones. I hope you have a great (and cooler) week!
