It was a relaxing weekend as my family gave me the most wonderful present for Mother's Day: peace and quiet! I was able to read several books and finish one completely. I also was able to do some blogging to get ahead for the week (yay, me!). I am looking forward to a somewhat less busy week. Last week, I attended two different author events at my local Barnes & Noble! Plus I have been trying to catch up on reading ARCs and buying all the wonderful new books that were released recently.
Must Read:
I learned about this book from one of the author visits I attended last week.. Author Siobhan Vivian explained how this book really had an impact on her as it tells the story of a break up through the mementos that one of the people collects. I found it fascinating. I plan on getting this book ASAP.
Must Listen:
I listened to this audio book a few weeks ago and was mesmerized by all the stories about early television and Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock from Star Trek). I heard about this book during the Silicon Valley ComicCon. If you loved Star Trek, then you will not want to miss this book. I think listening to it is the way to go. It is lovingly written and narrated by William Shatner, Leonard's lifelong friend.Must See:
This YouTube video has a lot of great background information about one of my favorite Animes of all time: Spirited Away. I used to live in Japan and I still enjoy cultural aspects of that country. If you haven't seen Spirited Away, then please find a copy and immerse yourself in it's splendor!
What are you excited for this week? Let me know in the comments.
Oh I just heard about Why We Broke Up recently and really want to read it! Love SV!!
ReplyDeleteMy Monday Musts!
Yes, it sounds like an interesting way to tell a story. Siobhan Vivian raved about it during the author talk I attended.
DeleteYes, yes and yes! Why We Broke Up is so great (and completely heartbreaking). I haven't read your must read, but I love Star Trek and I think I'll pick the book up from the library when I get the chance. Ooh, and Spirited Away. Man, that was the first movie I ever really, really loved. Still rewatch it to this day, and it's good every single time. Loved the video!
