Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews. Each week, nearly 100 book blogs share what they got in the last week. It is really fun to blog hop and see all the goodies people are getting.
It has been a crazy week of book blogging! Why, oh why do publishers pile on all the good book releases so close to each other? That, coupled with two amazing author events in my area (Morgan Matson, Siobhan Vivian on Tuesday, & Amie Kaufman, and Jay Kristoff on Thursday!), have meant that I have had about five hours of sleep per night. I do not do well with less then 7 hours of sleep, so I have been tired and cranky each day.
This sums up my existence this week! |
Sorry for all the complaining, because I actually have had an amazing week of reading, blogging, and accumulating what I hope are amazing books to read in the coming months.
Read This Week:
I really loved Holding Smoke! It was so original and suspenseful!
Blog Tours:
I already finished Summer of Sloane (fun!), and Spark will be read soon!
Pre-Orders from Amazon:
Oh, I can't start to read these!
From The Library:
I had to check this audio book out again in order to finish it! I love Cokie Roberts and her books are smart, detailed, and important.
From Barnes & Noble:
Barnes & Noble is a dangerous place for my pocketbook! Great events, friendly managers, and yummy coffee made me want to buy more, more more!!!
From NetGalley:
I need a good YA romance! I hope this one delivers.
So how was your week? What books did you get and are excited to read? Let me know in the comments.
Ooh, so many cute dogs on the cover of Unexpected Everything! Not my genre but I like the cover! Hope you have lots of fun with your reading this week!
ReplyDeleteI loved Morgan Matson's first book, Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, so I have high hopes for this book. She was one of the authors I got to meet this week, so I am even more excited to read her new book, now.
DeleteNiiiice! I picked up Illuminae this week too after much deliberating!! Was a bit dismayed that B&N gave me a copy that had a slightly malfunctioning cover! Especially since it's such a delicate cover! I tried folding it more properly and put it at the very bottom of my STS stack, what with ACOMAF being over 600 beautiful pages plus 3 other books I am hoping it's enough weight to mend it! Shame on B&N!! I swear I sometimes think the employees aren't quite the booklovers they may claim to be.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy all your new lovelies!!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!

Oh no! That happened to me with a book from Amazon a few months ago. Perhaps you could return it? Illuminae is one of my favorite books. There is so much going on in that book and it is presented in such an original way. I got to meet the authors this week and they were a delight! It was a very small event (which surprised me that there were so few people) and we got to talk for a long time! Please read it. It is wonderful.
DeleteI like good YA romances too. You got so many good books this week! I haven't read Illuminae yet, but it's on my TBR. So is A Court of Mist and Fury. I love the comic too. That's exactly how I am when it comes to buying books!
ReplyDeleteHere's my STS
You got some amazing books. I hope you love all of your new reads. I love the comic book strip illustration. It's so much me at times.

I also went to B&N this week and it DESTROYED ME. I picked up four books when I went in for one *cries* oh well, it was worth it! You picked up some great books! I hope you like Summer of Supernovas; I really enjoyed it.

By not including pre-orders I stuck to my book buying ban this week! So naturally next week I'm going on a binge, spending my Waterstones gift card from my birthday XD I hope to pick up Illuminae, so I'm excited to hear what you think! Happy reading
