Read This Week:
I finally got to finish the audio book of Capital Dames! I got this from the library and had to get back in line when I couldn't finish it. Re-reading The Raven Boys was a treat and I was delighted that I could see some clues in the book to future events. Spark was a fun book, once I understood the premise. But, I wasn't super impressed with Summer Of Supernovas. Oh well...
Bought for my Kindle:
I now have a print version and a digital version of Illuminae. I want to buy the audio book version as well. I love, love, love this book! I bought I Am Malala for my daughter as she is reading this for school. I will read it, too.
From Harper Teen:
I actually got a digital version of this from Hannah, The Irish Banana for a blog tour, so I was surprised and delighted to receive a print copy of this fun book!
NetGalley:
Anything having to do with Jane Austin and I'm in! Though clearly fiction this book looks like an intriguing look into the author's life.
What did you get this week? Which books are you itching to read? Let me know in the comments.
Great haul! I really enjoyed Illuminae as well and I'm hoping to read The Raven Boys soon! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI am re-reading The Raven Boys eries so I can read The Raven King. I read the series so long ago, I can't remember what happened! Have a great week.
DeleteBummer to hear you didn't like Summer of Supernovas. I've been eyeing that one. I still need to finish Illuminae. I have a hard version, but was listening to the audio. I had to return it to the library before I finished it, though. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeleteSummer Of Supernovas had a good romantic problem: girl likes two brothers. But adding all the astrology nonsense (and having the mc adhere to it so doggedly) was ridiculous. Wait til it gets to your local library, and then read it.
DeleteAwesome haul. I also really liked Illuminae and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Yes, October can't come fast enough!
DeleteNice haul you´ve got there :-) I read I am Malala a few years back and it is really a good book. Hope your daughter will enjoy it :-). Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteVi @Gone With The Books
Thanks, Vi. I'm glad she has an opportunity AT SCHOOL to read this important book.
DeleteSpark looks interesting, I might get it someday. And yay for having multiple copies of books that we love. I've never read Illuminae but lots of people I know love that one :)
ReplyDeleteSya @ Bookish Sya
I haven't gotten so obsessed with a book in a long time. Actually, I am obsessed with The Raven Cycle AND the Illuminae series. But I was super stoked to meet Amie Kaufan and Jay Kristoff at an withor signing where only !! people showed up! So it was basically like sitting and having coffee with them. Super fun and memorable!
DeleteGreat books! I'm curious about Spark...and also Secrets in the Snow. Enjoy...and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI am a total theater geek so I loved it! I will be publishing a review (with a giveaway) on Thursday. Anything about Jane Austin gets my attention. I hope I like it too!
DeleteI read Summer of Supernovas and really enjoyed it. I would read more from that author! Enjoy your haul. STS
ReplyDeleteI actually liked the romance, but I thought that it was ridiculous that the main character would be so stringent about the astrology thing! I thought that just her being attracted to two brothers was enough of a dilemma for the whole story. I would read more from the author, too.
