I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...
On The Blog Last Week:
I was able to plan out my blog posts, which helped keep me sane during this busy week! No ARC reviews this week, but I will have many, many ARC reviews in February, so I am busy writing those during this month.
Monday: Bay Area Book Events #31
Thursday: Book Review: Legend by Marie Lu
In "Real" Life:
I had a marvelous, inspiring time at the Women's March in Oakland, California. Officially, there were 60,000 people, but there were estimates that the crowd was closer to 100,000. My Husband went with me, and it was a positive, family event.
My daughter finished her self-portrait assignment in her art class. It is really beautiful and looks exactly like her!
New Books:
Public Library:
All of these are audio books that I had on hold. Of course they all came in at once! So I am madly listening to all these books. I've already finished The Rose Society (loved it), and will finish Our Chemical Hearts today.
Kindle First:
This was free from the Kindle First program. So far, I'm enjoying this mystery set in the 1920s.
Book Swag:
I pre-ordered Caraval, so today I received a bunch of Caraval related items: Coloring pencils, a coloring page, temporary tattoos, and a tote!
That's all for this week. What books did you get this week? What are you excited to read? Let me know in the comments.
I was surprised how quickly we all started getting the Caraval preorder gifts! Still happy to get them! I had to start making a list of all my preorders so I know which items I still need to wait for! Sadly, the list has not shorten even after this one! And all the other titles have released already! Lol! So weird!
ReplyDeleteI still need to read The Rose Society and Lair of Dreams for that matter! Hope you enjoy your new reads!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you, Jessica. I was surprised to get the pre-order Caraval items before the actual book. But that just increases my excitement over getting it on Tuesday (I think?)! Have a fun week.
ReplyDeleteYou reviewed a lot of great books this week and have some fantastic ones in your line up!! I've been seeing Caraval everywhere it seems like I must get my hands on it!
ReplyDeleteI love that you attended the march with your family and your daughter's artwork is amazing. I thought it was an old photograph!
Have a great week :)

STS
It's been an eventful week to be sure! I am really ready to get my hands on Caraval. The news in the past few days has been so depressing that I need some literary escape! Have a good week.
DeleteI have been watching my library for Tell Me Three Things, but they still don't have it or know when they are getting it! Great haul. Happy reading!

My STS
I got Tell Me Three Things as an Audio Book. Our library lets you download them onto your phone through Overdrive. I haven't started it yet, but it is my local bookseller's favorite book! Have a fun week.
DeleteNothing wrong with no ARC reviews for the week - four reviews in general is great! I loved Tell Me Three Things, and I'm not even a YA contemporary person. I also loved The Young Elites trilogy! I'm waiting on my Caraval swag to come. :D I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend, Ardis. =)
Check out my STS post!
I finished The Rose Society and Our Chemical Hearts, now I'm on to Lair of Dreams. I love that I can get chores done while listening to these books.
DeleteI'm currently reading the Rose Society and loving it as well :D Also, your daughter is soooo amazing! Wish I can draw realistic like that.

I'm really liking The Young Elites series, but I can't seem to root for Adelina. That girl is a hot mess! I love the setting, and the story, but I am so conflicted over that one character.
DeleteI love the March photos, and your daughter is an amazing artist! I hope you enjoy all your new books.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Wow! You sure got a lot of great books this week! I wish I went to the Women's March last week, but I wasn't able to make it. I'm glad you had a wonderful experience there!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!
Good for you, I have so much respect for everyone who marches or speaks out.
ReplyDeleteI love that cover of Our Chemical Hearts, and Tell Me Three Thing also.
