I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!
I have begun to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book. I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.
On The Blog:
Monday: Bay Area Book Events #71
Tuesday: ARC Review: City Of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty
Thursday: ARC Review: The Empress by S.J. Kincaid
My giveaway for a signed copy of Turtles All The Way Down, by John Green, finished. Not many people entered (perhaps the market is saturated?), but the winner is:
Katherine T.
I have sent the book, so I think she will receive it by Monday.
In "Real Life":
I am finally feeling better, as I had a cold that morphed into something that required antibiotics! The weather is turning colder, and I am happy to be wearing snuggly sweaters to school, and cooking comfort food at night. I'm starting to think about holiday presents, and Thanksgiving dinner! There's lots to plan, but it is a wonderful time of the year.
New Books for Review:
NetGalley:
Thank you, Black Swan publishing, for inviting me to review this book! I love historical fiction, and this one looks like a winner.
Random House Audio:
Other New Books:
So many wonderful new audio books are being offered for review, that I find myself busier than ever. I am very excited for the three audio books from Random House.
That's it for this week. What books did you get this week? What are you excited about? Let me know in the comments.

ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Oh I read the Reader as an ARC some time back and can't wait to get my hands on the Speaker! Hope you enjoy it! My Shelf
ReplyDeleteThe Speaker looks so great! :-) I hope you enjoy these books.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on a copy of The Speaker. I remember reading the first one and not being sure I would like it but ended up loving it. Plus, it's purple (it's the little things). I am hoping to get some holiday shopping done tomorrow. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. When I was teaching, I always had colds that went straight to sinus infections. They were the worst! The holidays snuck up on my again, but I don't have much to do. My only child will be unable to come home for Thanksgiving, but at least she will be home for a little bit at Christmas. I have had The Speaker since May (I think) and I loved The Reader, but I kept pushing it back, because of length. That must be a 20+ hour audiobook, no? I will read Whichwood soon. I adored Furthermore and can't wait to get another peek into that world.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are kicking the cold. Seems like the season is kicking into gear for cold weather bugs. So many lovely books this week. A couple of these are already on my list.
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
The cover of the Speaker is really beautiful. It makes me want to read it. :)
