Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews. If you go to that site, you can see the blog hop where lots of people posts their weekly stacking the shelves.
You know when you go through a buffet and you think, "Oh yeah, I can eat all of this!". You get a big plate heaping with all kinds of goodies. Then reality sets in and you only nibble on a tiny portion of it? Well, it has been that sort of week between me and books. I have several amazing books to read, but with Christmas this week, something always took me away from reading. I did manage to read two books, my favorite of which was Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan.
I also went on an ARC spree as Edelweiss had downloads of several new books! And NetGalley was kind enough to grant me access to a new book, too. I REALLY hope to read more this coming week. I hope you all continue to have a wonderful holiday season.
That's a spot on metaphore you got there with the buffet-books comparison. I hardly read anything this week either, but the excitement I feel when looking at all my new books waiting for me...
ReplyDeleteSisi is one of my favourite movies to watch during this time of year! I also have a book which tells about her life in a less exciting kind of way, so I'm really curious to see how the one you got from Netgalley turns out to be!
I read another book about Sisi called The fortune Hunter by Daisy Goodwin, and I found Sisi to be so intriguing. I am looking forward to reading this book so much.
DeleteNow I just want to snuggle up on my couch and watch Sisi movies for the rest of the afternoon! Alas, though, 3rd day of Cristmas = a visit to the in-laws ;). Going to take a quick look at The Fortune Hunter, though!
DeleteWhat is the name of the Sisi movie? I would love to watch it.
DeleteOoh very nice! Those are new to me reads! Hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks for stopping by, Jessica! I tend to pile on the books. Now I need to read all of these books!
DeleteAwesome haul of books this week. They look great.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
Thank you, Grace. I am new to Edelweiss, so I feel lucky to get these books from them. Most of my requests were denied.
DeleteThe Possibility of Now does sound really good. I may have to check that one out on Edelweiss! I think I use Netgalley a bit more often so I tend to forget to check out Edelweiss's new additions every week.
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
I am pretty new to Edelweiss. I signed up to be on the Street Team for The Possibility of Now, so I hope I like it!
DeleteWow, great books for you this week. I hope you enjoy your new books!

Thank you, Britt (Britt is such a cool name BTW)! I will check out your blog, too.
DeleteI have always and will always have more books than I can possibly read. It just is what it is. Divah looks really intriguing. Great haul and happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteFelt the same way in regards to reading last week. Sisi looks interesting. Happy reading this week.
ReplyDeleteI just went to netgalley and requested Sisi. I might not get it, but I LOVED the Sissi movies and I always used to watch them with my grandma. I know they're worlds away from historical accuracy, but it won't hurt to try it! Hope you enjoy your books. :)
