Stacking The Shelves #37

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.  Each week, nearly 100 blogs from around the world share what books they got and other fun facts about their week. It is so much fun to blog hop and see what everyone is talking about.  Go to their site for a list of all the participating blogs.

If you like what you see, please follow me.  Just put down the method you followed with in the comments, and I will follow you back!  Thanks.

This week finally felt like a vacation!  While I am getting a lot done organizing and cleaning, I have also had time to (gasp!) watch some television, exercise, and (of course) read.  I got to read some really fun books this week, and made a small dent in my COYER (Clean Out Your E-Reader) Challenge.

Read This Week:

While I enjoyed all three of these books, my favorite of the week has got to be Nevernight, by Jay Kristoff.  Such a dark book with wicked humor.  I also found it quite disturbing.  I will explain it when I review it.  But, needless to say, this book is strictly for older teens and adults.

Currently Reading:

How did I not start reading the Air Awakens series sooner?  I am LOVING ITThe Root is a fun fantasy book, as well.

Update on my COYER (Clean Out Your E-Reader) Challenge:

I had 22 books on my COYER list, and over the past two weeks, I have been able to read two and am well on my way to finishing up a third today.  For me, this is progress...  Here is a link to my original post so you can see what books I need to read.

New From NetGalley:

I have been putting together a list of Author Events in the San Francisco Bay Area and noticed this author is coming out here in September.  The book looks really fun with elements of Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children in it.  Looks like a fun read!

Bought from Amazon:

Patrick Ness is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.  A Monster Calls, and The Rest Of Us Just Live Here were so wonderful.  So when I saw this listed in a kindle deal for $2.99, I jumped at getting it.

What new books did you get this week?  Which ones are you jumping to the head of the line?  Let me know in the comments.

    1. Yes! A Monster Calls is so beautiful. I went through Cancer and when my daughter was 10. It was so traumatic for HER. Often times, I was more sad for how it affected her than for myself. This book really shows that in a poetic way.

    1. I loved Nevernight, but I predict it will be controversial! There are a few scenes in there that push the envelope.

  3. Oooo, I'm starting Nevernight now! I haven't gotten very far... it hasn't been capturing my attention like I'd hoped. But I will finish it soon. Glad to see that you liked it. I hope you enjoy all of your (other) new books!

    Have a fabulous week. :)

    Check out my STS post!
