I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...
Happening This Week:
It's been a relaxing Thanksgiving week for us! I am happy (and thankful) to say that my plan of shared labor in cooking the Thanksgiving meal was mostly a success. I say mostly because a few things didn't happen as I had wanted, such as our meal being about two hours later than I had planned, but overall I was really please that everyone took their tasks to heart and we had an enjoyable meal that we all created. I think this will be a continuing tradition next November!I also got to get down to a lot of reading! I finished three books today, alone!!! So much better than fighting crowds on Black Friday, don't you think?
New Books This Week:
From Read With Tessa's
GoodReads Group:
I am so in love with this reading group! Every month this group reads all the wonderful YA books I have been yearning to read.
Free on Kindle:
These were books that I found out were free by looking at other people's Stacking The Shelves last week! I've already read both of these books. They were fun and just what I wanted to read on vacation!
Kindle First Program:
This is a program that is part of Amazon Prime. You get access to one of six books per month that you can read for free before they are released! I will be reading and review this book soon.
Penguin/Random House
First In Line Program:
I received this in the mail and it was a happy surprise! I love the marketing for this book. The cover has a band around it that reads:
This Book Contains:
- The untold story of Rome's female gladiators
- A lack of destressed damsels
- A steamy kiss by page 8
I love this!!!
That's it for this week. How was your Thanksgiving? Did you read any good books this week?
For my international readers, here is a video of Irish People tasting Thanksgiving food for the first time. This might explain what all the fuss is about:
OOh nice! I LOVED Heartless and This Savage Song!! Still need to read The Crown's Game! Hope you enjoy the new reads!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thanks Jessica. I'm just starting Heartless and I'm not sure what is happening so far... I've been on a reading spree in the past few days. I will look at your STS tomorrow. Have a great weekend.
DeleteI hope you enjoy your new books! I love that video of Irish people eating Thanksgiving food. So funny.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thank you, AJ. If only we could eat like it was Thanksgiving all the time, right? Have an excellent week.
DeleteAwesome haul of books this week. I hope you enjoy the Leslie Livington book. That book looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
I was so stoked to get that book! I wasn't expecting it, and it looks fun! Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteHere’s my Stacking the Shelves!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
I started Heartless yesterday, and so far I am liking it. I wonder how all the Alice characters fit into the story? So far the Cheshire cat has appeared, and there was mention of the caterpillar, too. have fun reading it.
DeleteI'm glad that your week was enjoyable! Thanksgiving has come and gone and I wish it were Thanksgiving, LOL. I loved This Savage Song and Heartless! OMG I am *dying* to read The Valiant. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week, Ardis. :)
Check out my STS post!
I have a lot of books to read! But I will try to not stress over it, and enjoy each book! It IS a busy time, but I hope you take a moment to appreciate the holidays, and relax.
DeleteWow, that is an impressive haul!. I have Empire of Storms as well, but not read it yet. Hope you enjoy all of them. Glad that your family was helping you with the Thanksgiving preparation and cooking! Happy reading and have a great new week.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
Thank you Vi. I have been on a reading roll! When school starts, I will be busier, so maybe I will get to 3 books this week? I wish I could read faster! Have a great week.
DeleteFighting the Black Friday crowds is something I have no interest in at all! I do all my shopping from the safety and security of my home!
ReplyDeleteDo they have Black Friday in the U.K.? I never go out on that day. It is too crowded and the vibe is greed, greed, greed. I hate it. I read three books that day, and didn't need to spend a penny! We are not going to have an extravagant Christmas this year. I am hoping to do things with my family, instead. I think experiences are better than presents. I just hope my kids feel the same!
DeleteEnjoy your books, and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDiane @ Diane’s Book Blog
