Stacking The Shelves #73 & Sunday Post #36

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...

On The Blog Last Week:
It has been pretty quiet on the blogging front this past week.  I have been working hard on reading in order to stay on target for my goal of 15 books per month.  I don't think I can do it...

As for blogging, I just had a few posts this week:

Monday:  Bay Area Book Events #38

Wednesday:  Book Review:  In The Shadow Of Lakecrest by Elizabeth Blackwell

New Books:

Public Library:

I've already finished Hunted and it was amazing.  A very dark version of Beauty & The Beast.

That's it for this week.  What books are you excited about?  Have you read any of these books?  Tell me what you think of them, please.

    1. I loved Hunted!!! I just need to write a review, but I enjoyed the complexity of the characters and plot. It wasn't just "she must fall in love with the Beast".

    1. Well, I am starting to have my doubts about whether I can do it either! I can usually pop out 12 books a month, no problem. This is with a combination of traditional books, and audio books. I can listen to audio books while I'm driving or making dinner, etc. Have a great week.

  3. I'm really excited about Hunted! I didn't end up getting an ARC but I plan on eventually reading it. I'm a sucker for retellings. I feel like I've been falling behind on reading this month too. And when I do read I haven't been very motivated to write reviews. Basically, I'm a big slacker this month. lol! Hoping I can get myself sorted out and back on track soon. Hope you have a great week!

    1. I loved Hunted. It was a very thoughtful book that was more about how we perceive happiness than falling in love. I wrote a review, which will be up on Tuesday. I often need a few days to marinate my thoughts on a book, before I write my reviews. But, by then, I am already into another book and I don't want to stop to write! I need to write the reviews sooner... Have a wonderful week.

    1. I love Emma Watson, so I do want to see the movie. But it IS a children's film, so it is not going to be a very deep movie (I know some kid movies, like Up are deep). But I liked Hunted because it really explores some complex themes of restlessness, and family. I hope you read it and love it as much as I did! Have a wonderful week.

    1. Thank you, Laurel. It's an audio book, so I can listen and get other work done. I just want to read all the time, but life also needs tending to. Have a wonderful week.

  9. It is still early in the year. You have time to work on reading 15 a month still! Don't give up hope yet. :-) I am lucky to read five a month--but I'm okay with that. I just added Hunted to my wish list. It sounds really good. I like dark. A Study in Charlotte is another one I would really like to read. I hope you have a great week, Ardis!
