Stacking The Shelves #79 & Sunday Post #42

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...

On The Blog Last Week:
"Real Life"
Last weekend, I attended the Silicon Valley Comic Con, and it was a blast!  Besides seeing most of the cast of Star Trek, The Next Generation, we also got to go to a forum with all the live actors from Sesame Street, plus Carol Spinney (who played Big Bird).  It was such a privilege to hear from these iconic actors.
I loved spending time with my family (minus one son, who wasn't interested).  AND, I got to see my brother, who lives in another state.  I also met My brother's girlfriend.  She was really fun and I can see why he likes her.
(I can't seem to upload pictures at the moment!, othewise, I would show you all the cool pictures I took)
New Books:
Public Library:
Random House "First In Line" Program:
I am very excited to have received this in the mail!  Thank you First In Line program!!!
That's it for this week.  What books did you get?  Which ones are you excited to start reading?
I am going to focus on reading ARCs as part of Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Clean Sweep May  Challenge. I hope to get a lot accomplished in the next month.  How about you?

  1. Ooh nice! I read Flame in the Mist earlier this month and liked it. Though I think I may have enjoyed it better if I was reading it in physical format vs the ebook I was reading. There were some words that popped up that were unfamiliar and when I finished reading I discovered there was a glossary in back! Would've been nicer to know that when I started! LOL! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Thanks for the tip, Jessica. I haven't started it yet, but now I will know to look at the glossary. I enjoy ebooks, but agree that there are drawbacks as well. Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. I've never heard of the First In Line program. I'll have to look that up. I hope you love Flame in the Mist. I really did! I can't wait to see what happens in the next books. That's the downside to reading ARCs, you have to wait even longer for the next book's release date. lol! Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you, Julie. I won a contest in order to be enrolled in the First In Line program. They said for one year, I would receive ARCs in the mail. I have gotten many top notch books from them this year, including Gemina, Windfall, City of Saints and Thieves, and now Flame in the Mist. I hope there is a way to continue after the year is up, because it is an amazing program. I don't have a large enough blog to ask for ARCs directly from publishers, so this is my one way of getting physical ARCs. Have a great week.

  3. Very lovely haul. Flame in the Mist sounds really good. I hope you love all of your new books.

  4. Enjoy your new books! I have seen them around, but haven't read them...yet. Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
