I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...

In "Real Life":
I finally got to go down to Southern California to visit my family. We hadn't seen them since Christmas, so it was a real treat! I tried to live stream the fireworks, but had limited success due to the poor internet strength where I was.
But the really fun part of live streaming was that because I was doing this, I started talking to my brother through Facebook. It turned out that he was in town too! I haven't seen him, face to face, since April, so we were able to see each other after the fireworks. My other brother was already at the house, and they hadn't seen each other in over a year! So it was a fun mini reunion.
New Books:
Penguin Random House:
I was excited to get this book because I thought the "First In Line" program was finished! This book was released in May, so I think they must have had some extra copies to send out. Fine by me.

The title spoke to me... Don't know why.

That's it for this week. If you live in the U.S., did you have a fun Fourth Of July? For everyone, what books are you reading right now? Is there one that is blowing you away? Let me know in the comments.
I've been trying new authors and based on what I read this week, I'll follow through on four series. That's pretty good! Three are urban fantasy and one is a cozy mystery which I never generally read. Next week more new authors! Have a good reading week!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to try new authors out. If I do so, I usually get the first book from the library, so if I don't like it, I'm not out any money. I've been pretty good about not spending money on books, so far this summer. But my resolve will be put to the test next week. I really want to go to Elise Kova's book signing for The Dragons Of Nova. Have a great week of reading.
DeleteI’m glad you got to see your family. I hope you enjoy your new books!
