I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...

Monday: Bay Area Book Events #56
My favorite book review of the week, hands down, is Age Of Swords, by Michael J. Sullivan. It is an epic fantasy historical fiction set in the Bronze Age. Strong female characters and lots of action make this a must read.
In Real Life:
The big news of the week is that my oldest son passed his driving test and is now a licensed driver!!! I was so relieved and happy for him. This will open up new opportunities for him and his a big step in adulthood.
I am listening to a very good podcast that my doctor recommended to me called Primal Potential from a woman named Elizabeth Benton. It's about weight loss but she has some great ideas for making small changes to improve your health.
Summer school starts up again on Monday, so Summer is just about over for me. I think the kids and I have accomplished a great deal and I hope to continue on a positive path as work starts up. I will miss sleeping in...sigh!

Did you already read Because You Love To Hate Me, already? If so, what did you think of it? It's a collection of stories from various authors, so I think it will be fun to read. Thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thank you, AJ. The best part (for me) of my son getting his license is that i don't have to drive him around any more!!! Plus, he can help take some of the other kids places, too!!! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI keep meaning to read the Lara Jean series - I've heard nothing but great things about it! I Hate Everyone But You also looks great. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it. Happy reading, and have a fantastic week! :)

Congrats to your son! I really need to read Jenny Han books... Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son. My mom and dad were so excited when I got my license because they didn't have to wait up on Fridays and Saturdays to pick me up from football games and competitions - I was in band. They were sick of 2am phone calls when the games were far away.
ReplyDeleteGreat haul of books this week! I haven't had a chance to read any of them yet. Congrats to your son for getting his license! My youngest has been driving for about a year and it has been great. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son for passing his driver's test! I remember passing mine and how relieved I was. Sorry you don't get to sleep in any more, but hope you have a good week anyway!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss sleeping in as well. Where summer break go this year?! Just finished reading Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland. It kind of gave me Christina Lauran vibes at first. I wasn't head over heels about it, but I'm open to reading more of her work.
