Stacking The Shelves #110 & Sunday Post #74

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!

I am participating in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book.  I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.

On The Blog:

I think I am back on track with my books!  I finished up my Goodreads reading goal of 144 books for 2017, getting the last one finished at 11pm on New Years Eve.  I cut that one close, so I am scaling down my book challenge for 2018 by setting a goal of 120 books for the year.  I think I can do this reasonably without stressing out.  I need to find a way to make time to exercise and getting to and from the gym will cut into my reading time (even using audio books).

I do have several ARCs to finish for the month, but they are all books I am really looking forward to reading, so I am a happy reader.

In Real Life:
I've been having a few health issues so I had to see the doctor this week, and get some meds.  It seems I am clenching my jaw and it has caused lots of headaches and pain.  I need to find better ways to relax and also to hold myself as I read.  The side that hurts is the side I usually lean on while reading.  Who knew reading could be hazardous?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the 2016 presidential campaign...

That's it for this week.  I hope the year started out well for all of you.  Happy reading.

  2. Congrats on finishing your reading challenge! I have a teeth clenching problem, too. Sleeping with a nightguard has helped a little, but I don’t know what to do about clenching during the day. That’s still a problem. Enjoy your new book!

  6. Congratulations on finishing your 2017 challenge! I didn't participate in 2017 but in 2016 I did finish my goal with minutes to spare so for 2017 and 2018 I decided not to set a number and just read whatever I want. I hope your health issues get resolved soon! I've been wanting to pick up the Hilary Clinton book for sometime now. I hope you enjoy it.

    Have a wonderful week!

  7. Congrats on achieving your goals. I think 2018 should be as low pressure as you can make it. Hope the meds help. I've been having some arm/neck pain and have to be careful about how I sit when I read and work. Have a great week.

  8. Finishing your goal with an hour to spare - that is close! I set mine really low and usually hit it in the summer since I hate stress. I hope your meds work for you. Have a great week!
