Stacking The Shelves #10

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature started by Tynga's Reviews.  This is a great site to check out!  On it they list a blog hop of all the bloggers doing this feature!

It has been such a busy week!  This was the last week of school before Winter break and it was intense.  I did manage to read a lot, although my book count is down.  That is because I got the bright idea to read three books at once.  That wasn't confusing at all, right?  So I finished two books for the week.  I think my count will be really high for next week with all my multi-tasking, but we'll see.  I am currently reading Brain on Fire (audiobook) and it is riveting!

Here is what I read and received:

  1. Nice! Those are new to me reads! I know of Gatsby of course since I had to read it in highschool! Hope you enjoy your new reads!

    1. The dragon book was really fun. I think The Bette Davis Club will be awesome. I got the book of Benjamin Franklin a while back on NetGalley and I'm trying to get through it, but it is more like a textbook! Hmm, read a school book or read about a heavy drinking 50 year old having a crisis? I just don't know HOW I shall choose...

  2. You know, I really should re-read Gatsby. I read it in High School (and that was over 40 years ago).

    1. Hi David. I re-read Gatsby every so often. I think it's because it reminds me that while you can have all the things money can buy, what really matters is having relationships with people. What is most sad for me is that no one goes to Gatsby's funeral. Have a great week.

    2. I apologize for getting your name wrong, Davida. That's what happens when I am two days away from getting new glasses! My current bifocals mean I have to look at the computer screen with my chin up and have my eyes squint down at the monitor.

  3. I tried reading multiple books a month or so ago, and while I managed, I think I am a one-at-a-time reader. However, I am amazed and somewhat envious of people who have 5-6 books going at one time. I think I can do it as long as the books are two completely different genres. I grabbed Life After the Undead as well.

    1. I'm actually not very good at juggling multiple books. This was an experiment that I don't think I will do again! The exception is that I will listen to audiobooks while I'm doing housework, and then read another book when I get a chance to sit down.

  4. "Brain on Fire" seems so interesting! I've always had a bit of an itch to read it but haven't picked it up yet. Hope it's enjoyable!

    1. I listened to this as an audiobook, and loved it. You should definitely read it.
