I am combining two great blog hops: Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer). Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about. I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription. If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back! As always, all book cover images are linked to GoodReads so if you see a book you want to learn more about, just click away...
On The Blog Last Week:
Monday: Bay Area Book Events
Tuesday: The Clean Sweep ARC Challenge
Wednesday: ARC Review: A Stitch of Time by Lauren Marks
My weekly book events post on Monday continues to remain very popular (for me), getting about 100 hits per week! I am super excited to be participating in The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Clean Sweep ARC Challenge. I really need to power through these ARCs before I try and request anything new from Edelweiss or Netgalley, so I hope this challenge will help keep me on track! On Wednesday, I reviewed a new book, A Stitch of Time. It was okay, but I have read better books on the subject of brain injury, so I am only mildly recommending it.
In "Real Life":
It's been a busy week at school and everyone is counting down to the last day of class! Today we had a Walk-a-Thon to raise money for the school. The parents gave the kids the option of doing a "color splash" with each lap, and it was super popular! By the end the kids were covered in colorful dust! I love working at this school!

What books did you get this week? I know there were plenty of great releases that I would have loved to get, but...
I am on a book buying freeze for the foreseeable future!
Such a relatable GIPHY!
ReplyDeleteYes! Why do so many wonderful books have to be released in May?
DeleteOoh nice new reads! New to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Thank you, Jessica. Have a good weekend.
DeleteGood luck with getting through your ARCs, and good luck with the book buying freeze. I should really be on one of those.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It is KILLING ME not to run out and get the new Jenny Han book! Or the new Shadowhunters book later this month. Or the ... this list will get too long!
DeleteA few books I haven't heard of before. I hope you love all of your new books.

I need to put myself on a book buying freeze. I hope your library can be as good to you as mine has been to me! I get so excited and go a little overboard seeing all the books I want to read and knowing I can get them for free. Also I've heard lots of good things about the Neil Gaiman book, I hope you like it, I know I need to give some of his stuff a try!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. I've been trying to limit myself lately. I've done really well this year staying on top of my ARCs, but there are a few that have fallen past the publication date. I hate when that happens. And actually, my review going up Monday is a book that I requested in 2013!!!!! Can you believe that? I feel so awful for putting it off for so long. Hope you have a great week!

I love the gif. I always say I am not buying and when I finally lose it, I swear I spend three times as much from being deprived. Hehe. The Norse Mythology looks good..enjoy!Hope the walk was good today!
ReplyDeleteWow! The Walk a Thon sounds like fun!

I love the sound of the colour splash at the walk-a-thon, I bet that was so much fun for all the kids. I hope you manage to stick to your book buying freeze - I really need to do that too but I just have no willpower when it comes to books at the moment. I hope you enjoy the books you got this week :)
ReplyDeleteYour school sounds like so much fun! Who doesn't want a color splash?! Book buying bans are no fun...but I really need to go on one so that I can catch up a bit. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I am forever on a book buying ban! And then I cave and tell myself that I can buy ONE cart's worth of books... which ends up being a lot. o_o I am curious about Norse Mythology! I saw it at my local bookstore, it is so pretty. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week, Ardis. =)
Check out my STS post!
I love mythology, and that Gaiman book is on my Wishlist. My book-buying bans don't work. I've resolved to TRY not to buy NEW books, so I hit the used sales :) That counts, right? Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy the Gaiman! I did like it, though I'm a bit too familiar with the legends to find it very innovative, you know?
