Stacking The Shelves #108 & Sunday Post #72

I am combining two great blog hops:  Stacking The Shelves (a Saturday feature by Team Tynga's Reviews), and Sunday Post (a Sunday feature by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer).  Both of these features give people a chance to post about what books they received and also an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what others are excited about.  I really enjoy see everyone's version of these features! If you enjoy my blog, please consider following me via Bloglovin, Networked Blogs, GFC, or by email subscription.  If you leave a comment and tell me you are a new follower, I will follow you back!

I have begun to participate in the Amazon affiliate program, so if you click on any of the book covers it will take you to Amazon if you want to buy the book.  I will be getting a small fee for each purchase.

In Real Life:
Thankfully, I have had the week off of work.  With lots of shopping, gift-wrapping, and cooking to do, it was a busy week.  But I got a lot done, and was even able to go see Star Wars with my whole family last weekend!

My Southern California Family has been through the ringer with these massive wild fires!  Nearly all of my relatives had to be evacuated at one time or another.  My In-laws were finally able to go home yesterday!  Thankfully, no one lost their home, but everyone I talked to was very stressed out by the whole experience.  So I think we will postpone our visit until sometime in January.  I think they all need time to relax and I don't think it would be helpful to descend on them with six people for house guests!

    1. I can't wait to start Unearthed! I adore Amie Kaufman's & Meagan Spooner's books, so I have high expectations for this one.

    1. Thank you, AJ. I am so ready to read and catch up on all these beauties! Have a wonderful week.

  3. Did you get to read the bear and the nightingale yet? It was on my christmaswishlist and I haven't been able to pick it up. The second book in the series just came out so I was wonderin it it was worth it.

    1. Hi Jackie. I am reading The Bear and The Nightingale right now. I would say it starts very slow, and I had a hard time getting into it. But, I persisted, and it was worth it. This is written more as a fairy tale, and not like a usual fantasy. But the characters do get under your skin. Have a wonderful week.

  4. I am glad your whole family is safe now. It really sucks that this happened near the holidays :( But I hope you all are relaxed now.

I have The Bear and Nightingale but haven't picked it up yet. Hope to read it soon.

I hope you enjoy your new reads.

    1. Thank you. I am about 30% into The Bear and the Nightingale, and am enjoying it very much. It's a very different book, but well worth reading. Have a lovely week.

  5. Oh! I hope your relatives are doing alright! I hope you have a lovely Christmas!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!

  6. Phew, I'm glad your relatives are doing okay and their homes weren't lost! That's amazing. I spy Unearthed! I also have a copy of Unearthed and I'm so excited to read it. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Happy holidays! Have a wonderful week, Ardis. =)

    Check out my STS post!

  7. I hope all are well in your Southern California family. I have family there, too, but so far, they have escaped the wildfires. They have endured earthquakes in the past, however.

California is wonderful...until we get wildfires, earthquakes, etc. Sigh.

Have a great holiday. I have a copy of Wife 22 that has been hiding on Pippa, my Kindle. Maybe I should bring it out!

Enjoy your holidays! Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
